Last night I went to meet my friend for the usual Tuesday night benefit show on Cahuenga, in Hollywood. While Cypress Hill didn't show up this time -- but will be back next week -- the highlight was the presence of Wayne Kramer from the MC5 and the expected take on "Kick out the jams" featuring Rage/Audioslave/Nitghtwatchman Morrello on the ax.
Country dude Shooter Jennings took the stage for an unconvincing re-rendition of Guns & Roses' "Paradize City" -- he sounds great on country stuff but is no match for Axl 's vocals on a Guns' song. Folk singer Jill Sobule was also a lot of fun with her anti-Bush songs while another noticeable point was the presence of Val Kilmer, who seemed to have a blast in the front row.
