I've been meaning to update this journal entry since this morning.
You see last night I had wierd apocalyptic kind of dream. The details are already forgotten. Part of it somehow involved my brother's wife and her mother in my uncles garage. Hmm...
So I woke up from the dream and I wanted to write down the details before I forgot, but when I got up it seemed unusually dark. Maybe it was foggy, or a really overcast day or something.
I was still groggy when I opened the door to look out... Holy shit everything looked yellow.
This was freaky. I thought for a minute maybe it was the entire bottle of olives I ate last night that somehow affected my color perception or something.
Anyway a phone call later and I learn that there were several enormous wildfires burning in San Diego county. I turn on the local TV stations: fire, fire, fire.
I find out that my elderly uncle's house is only about 5 miles from the one of the fire lines.
Okay, so it's going to be one of these kinds of days I realize.
I go outside and at 11am it looks like it's sunset. The sun is an orange blot behind all the smoke. Even though my place is 20 miles from the fires there is ash drifting down the street. My car is covered with it.
So I head of to "unks" house. The house is right on path for a potential wind to push right up the canyone. Later in the evening it looked a little bit better after the winds died down. If the west face of the main fire goes a couple miles west and jumps a freeway it's a good chance it'll be toast since the backyard isf a right next to a canyon filled with dry brush and eucalyptus trees.
The fire wasn't in sight yet but people were on the roofs with hoses. I was myself wetting things down. It seemed kind of futile but might as well do something.
Two people that I work with live in areas that were evacuated today. My brother's wife's parents live 35 miles away from there in another area that had to be evacuated. My girlfriend lives near an area where there was an evacuation 30 miles south of there. The whole fuckin county is fire!
It's about 150,000 acres so far and about 300 homes. You can literaly drive for 50 miles north, south or east and you will see smoke blot out the sky and ashes drifting down. Freeways are closed down all over. They're telling people to stay home tommorow
There are a lot of synchronicities that make me wonder what in the universe is going on.
There is some very wierd timing going on.
Oh and just as a nice topper... I'm driving home tonight and my car is now making a funny noise like there's something caught in the wheel or something.
