What a long day.
First I stayed up late again reading. I've been doing that the last week or so. I'm only getting about 5 hours sleep a night.
I got up this morning at 7am for a funeral after falling asleep around 2:30am. It was a navy funereal at a military cemetary. Funerals always tend to be a bummer of course. This was one was pretty low-key and casual at least. Then the group had some breakfast at CoCo's afterwards.
Well that was the first part of the day. There were three, actually four, distinct periods.
Then I drove to work by 11am. I'm almost out of this place, so I'm kind of hardcore screwing off. The really lame thing though is that actually in terms of getting things done I'm not really even screwing off. It's just that we're spending about 3 months to do what could be done in 3 weeks. It's almost already been about 8 months of not much progress at all. What people really do is just come in, sit around breathe air, take up space, surf the internet, and then leave. That's what bugs me, just sitting around acting busy or doing nothing. If I have nothing to do I'd just rather leave. I already spent the first 6 months trying to occupy my time with things but it was just pointless.
So anyway, I was in around 11am did about a solid hour of work and then left about 2:30pm. Normally I'd settle on just sitting around but I had a friend in town that I wanted to hang out with.
So then the next phase of my day, hanging out at the beach. The three of us rented bikes and it was like being tourists. Had a couple of beers, cruised the boardwalk and just hung out. Then I gave a presentation of my pad later. We were all friends in high school so it was cool to spend some time back in the old stomping grouds. Overall it was a good way to break up the day.
Now I'm in tired as hell phase. I had to give my other friend a ride back. Then I had some other errands. I came home and took a shower. Now I'm just very content to fall asleep early and get more than 8 hours sleep. I could go out but I don't think so.
There's another international party tommorow night. I gotta check that one out. The one from a couple months ago was pretty cool.
I'm studying japanese again for a test this December, so I need a Japanese tutor. I'll have to put a flyer somewhere for that.
