a bicycle blew through a red light and hit my car this morning. even though it was not my fault i am having a serious case of yuppie guilt. i always look for bicyclists before i open my door or pull out, and i drive behind them and let them have the whole lane. now my super-nice-to-bicycles-lady rep is totally shot.
You didn't do a damn thing wrong. I'm glad there are people out there who ride their bikes when they can, but I get seriously peeved at the ones that want it both ways and want to be recognized as street traffic without having to obey the same traffic laws. you should make him pay for your mirror.
You should pursue legal action and get him paying for your damage. If he's going to use vehicle roadways he needs to be mindful of the rules or pay the consequences.
And being from Iowa I did indeed have a fixed gear. I had handbrakes though.
today i made it to page 38/60 of the manual i'm working on. i don't know what it is taking me so long, i've been working on it for over two weeks, and that seems like it should have been more then enough time, but uh i guess not.

i'm sort of on a diet. except i hate it when people talk about diets, and i definitely don't want to be one of those people. perhaps i can say that i am trying to eat less food? i would like to say that i am eating better food, but that is just not true.
(usually when i see these journals where people are whining about being sick, i think that they should drink some orange juice and stfu. well don't you worry, i am already drinking orange juice and stfuing.)
Boredom is probably a pretty good reason for both. Wait, for Seattle I actually do have good reasons. Lots of friends up here, far cheaper than San Francisco, and I'm a lot closer to both the water and the snow.
Eastside? Not so much, I'm in Ballard. I'm around this week if you want to hang out.
I'm still pretty geeky, though, my job is dangerously close to sales now. I went from the programming job to a security consulting job (paid to hack, basically), and now I'm working as a sales engineer for a company that does source code security review software. It's a lot of fun.
