well enough of that. in case you haven't noticed i don't really lie to talk about personal stuff in my journal. at least not the bad stuff, or even the really good stuff. yet somehow i seem to have managed to be on a streak of it, so in that vein, here's more: tomorrow i am going to detroit for a week with my father to go to my cousin's wedding.
this brings up several issues including:
- how do i hide my piercings for an entire week in 90 degree weather?
- what will i possibly talk about with my father since he doesn't like my friends, my clothes, my profession, or my boyfriend?
- what do i wear to a semi-formal nighttime wedding that wont make me look like i'm going to a funeral?
- how is it possible that my mentally retarded cousin (literally) is getting married to a rich lawyer from boston, and i can't even get my boyfriend to buy me a cat?

I dunno, I think your piercings are totally cool so why hide them--you may think I am lame for saying that but if someone doesn't like them that's their problem not yours.
On the convo with Dad front--hmm that is a tough one but I am sure he will be happy to see you--fathers always seem to have a weakness for their daughters--I think it has something to do with their fear of not knowing how to communicate with their daughter (my father is like that with my sister).
Can't really help on the "what to wear" question other than to suggest--be yourself, wear something you feel comfortable in and that you like--somnds like there may be other factors that are uncomfortable (family relationships, etc.)--no reason to put something on your body that is uncomfotable too.
As for the last one--tell your boyfriend he is lame--he should get you a cat! There are to of them who live at my house and they are AWESOME to have around! Great companions and yet give you your space too! (no late night walks, etc.)
Take care and good luck with the trip . . .
