I'm making some yam and peanut soup for supper. It's really the only productive thing I've done all weekend.

Work has been... okay. A couple of guys have left/are leaving so there are new guys coming in and I'm being expected to help train them. There's pretty high turnover (seven guys have come and gone since I started in October) and I'm now the longest serving employee. My boss is trying to spend more time actually taking care of the business side of things instead of sitting inside a truck all day. That's left me to run a lot of day to day things which I loathe doing. I don't like managing people.

On a slightly more positive note, I got another cat. Her name is Fival (because she went west from Saskatchewan). A friend of mine found her on her parents' farm but wasn't able to keep her because she didn't get along with an already present cat. So I took her to keep Mr Chow company. After a few weeks of hissing and general dislike they have reached the "okay, you're here, whatever" stage. That's fine. They're not best friends but they get along well enough and I like having them around.
