I've been back at uni for about 2 weeks now. My new flat is just beautiful! I have one of two ground floor studio flats in an old georgian house. We have big steps with boot scrapers up to our olive green door. The porch door has a big stained glass rose on it and mine and Courtnie's flats have big high ceilings with ornate wall mouldings and picture hooks. We each have one big room which has a kitchen and dining table in, a sofa and a double bed, and the bathroom is seperate.
I had so much fun making it home and brought all of my odd bits and ends that I have collected over the years from charity shops or skips, the beach, the woods, gifts and liberations. I love having my own kitchen to cook in as well. I have all my herbs and spices and my housemates are all into cooking so we have been swapping recipes, sitting outside on our table smoking and drinking tea from tea pots, discussing politics and art.
I have also been reminissing over my childhood/teenagehood by watching classic cartoons such as Hey Arnold, Wild Thornberrys (I always kind of fancyd Debby)
and finally : As told by Ginger, which I am getting worryingly addicted to at the moment!
Is the song by Macy Gray?
Uni has been a welcome breath of oxygen to my brain. I let it rot over summer and spent the whole of it watching Big Brother and friends repeats. I've been disgustingly organised this year though, I have got books out from our recommended reading list and am working my way through them, as well as some femminist literature, attending LSARF meetings (Liverpool students against racism and fascism) which is going to have a book club in the near future, trying to start thinking aboug my dissitation (I know it's a year away but I like to be ontop of things), doing gallery volounteer work and occasionally fitting in the odd romantic meal with Jo or night out with the girls. I hardly have time to breath, but I love every second of it!
On other notes I am going to see Hadouken tonight for my friend's birthday.
GET SMASHED GATE CRASH!
