So I had just got back from Chicago for my brothers wedding. It was one of the best weeks of my life. I not sure if I've ever drank so much. It all started on Monday when I got there. We went to Joe's Stone Crab, and eat and drank like it was 1925 minus that pesky 19th amendment. And had one of the best steaks of my life. And I work in a high end steakhouse. Tuesday we had the Wedding rehearsal dinner and my Brother and his husband had 90 of his closest friends. Oh did I mention he was gay? Well he is, and he knows how to party! And knows how to throw one too. I had people asking to be my date the second I mentioned it. But I digress.
The day before we checked into our hotel and I went off to lunch and get lost in the city for the afternoon. I went to The Publican Quality Meats for lunch, and it was one the best lunches of my left. If you ever go Chicago go there for lunch. But make sure you keep the party size low. It's community seating and not easy to get seating. They also have a amazing charcuterie counter I had hold back so I only spent $35. And believe me that wasn't easy to do. It was very cold so I decided not to get to lost in the city and went back to my room and took a nap a got ready for the rehearsal dinner.
The rehearsal dinner was pretty much the same as the dinner at Joe's. Just more drinking and eating and talking to people. And having an over all blast.
The day of the I may of had a slight hang over but had to up to actually have the rehearsal. Yes we didn't do it the night before. Opps! And get a massage. That was nice and helps get rid on the hangover. Took a little nap. I got ready and, went back it again.
The Ceremony was one of the best I've ever been to. I was a groomsman On my brother in-laws side. My brother had all women and one guy, and he is gay. My brother in law had all men so it evened out. At the end of the aisle I was met by a sever offering me Champagne! I didn't know that was coming. So we had the first of three Champagne toast's. My brother and brother and law wrote there own Vows and not a dry eye in the house after they where done. We walk back up and start the party.
The reception may have been the best I've ever been to. The food was out of the world and wine and more Champagne was fantastic and everyone hit the dance floor the fist real song that came one and didn't stop till 2am. It being a gay wedding you know the music and dancing was off the chain. And a small fashion show. And I held my own in that part, proud to say. That a look at my photo and you will see me.
I stayed up far to late and didn't make it to the land of the living and had about 45 notifications on my FB page. I posted before bed I guess. So that lead me to go thought all my Social Media sites and text messages. Luckily I behaved. Went got some pizza. after all it is Chicago. Drank a little more, packed, and got up at 6am to get on a plane.
If you have made it this far. Thank you for reading this, and dealing with my typos. It was truly one of the best weeks I've ever had. Thank you to my Brother and my new Brother in-law for making it and spending a butt load of money to do it. The only thing that would of made t better is if I got lucky. Witch I didn't. dropped the ball on that one. but that a whole other story for another time.
