How can one expect to find long term happiness if one cannot accept that nothing is ours to possess and so enjoy more those things that we have to enjoy at the moment?

This realization would lighten the pain and disappointment of loss. It would allow us to cope better and maintain hope for the future.

Long term happiness for me is finding ways to better myself. Finding ways to break the strong holds that life has enslaved me with and helping others do the same. Planting my seeds, nurturing them, watching them grow and interact in life. And knowing that life is more then this physical shell we live in.
I think alot of time we as human beings also have a tenency to overanilize things as well. That kind of thinking can be fruitless at times.

And yes...we are for the most part self absorbed and dare I add, vain.

It's too bad Utopia does not exist. We must create it in our own way and live it out the best way we know how. Let our light shine so others can see the true path.
