You can find threads from most subcultures just about anywhere, but you only really find Goth with the Goths themselves.

and it's that sentiment/misconception exactly that i'm trying to combat. goth is just as everywhere as punk or Avril Lavigne. it's a matter of distilling out the crap.

i mean, there are very few bands of quality on the radio (and by radio, i mean the current) that are not obviously influenced by at least the cure or joy division...
