All right, took the kayak out yesterday on it's maiden voyage, everything went swimmingly. Actually, that is probably not the best choice of adverbs as I managed to stay relatiively dry. I was quite surprised to see a couple of seals in the bay, they popped their heads up and watched the progress. I've seen quite a few of them out fishing with friends in the San Juan's, but they're usually out where the bottom drops off pretty quick and Birch Bay is pretty shallow, so I was pleasantly surprised that they were there. I'm looking forward to going out later today, and hopefully, maybe everyday this week as I am off on vacation. I just hope what I have to do Tuesday does not turn into a nightmare of a project. My girlfriend's folks just bought a house and it only has two phone jacks and one cable outlet, so I told them I would put more in for them. her dad is 71 and her mother is 68, so they are at the point where they don't like having to travel too far to get the phone.
two things learned this morning,Orangejello seems to enjoy pulling the petals off of roses(he may enjoy doing this to all flowers, but roses were what was handy) and secondly, it a wise idea to try and pay a little bit of attention to the sharp end of the scissors when trying to do a few things at once.
