This week I got the oportunity to study Krav Maga (For those of you who do not know it is a form of martial arts created as a survival art from guns and knives and lethal attacks) from Moshe Katz this week and it was amazing. Below is a video of his teacher on Human Weapon.
Moshe is a wonderful teacher and a very personable person.
After I spent several hours with him, I was ashamed to admit I know nothing of the Jewish faith. It never occured to me before this meeting and seminar. Moshe was very understanding and patient with my questions (due to the circumstances of his seminar and his conection to my dojo I picked him up from the airport and drove him to the seminar and was able to spend many quality hours training and talking with him before the actual seminar) and was more than happy to share information with me as well as asking questions about our culture. What bothers me about this is I pride myself as someone who has at least a basic knowledge of many cultures and religions but I was at a loss for this one.
Guess it is time to hit the books.

just how I view things. as for me, well, I am the heaviest I have been in my entire life. however, I consider the fact that I can still get out there and push the carts. and walk over 35,000 steps in an 8 hour shift with only a 1/2 hour break that is required by law. or work pretty much 10 hours straight (or so) without a break really. I think that's a good sign. plus, while I might be 200 lbs., I really don't look it!
ahh, the shyness, it bites.
and Judaism is a very interesting religion. in many aspects.
ahh, Krav Maga. I figure that if I ever have a daughter, that might be what I take up. or Shotokhan. something where any guy she brings home I know I can whoop his ass. and make sure he knows it. yes, i am very protective.
figure I would start when she is born (or earlier, if I have an opportunity, for no other reason than to get into shape). and buy a gun too!
'csuse I'm protective that way!
