So the other day I'm helping my father-in-law move some furniture into a friend's house. After we get the piece into place, dude and his wife are telling us about the renovations they need to do. Thing is, dude's room is being redone. I guess he's ok with it, cuz he's just going with the flow of it. As I'm standing there listening I get to thinking about how women run things. It seems men used to to work and that's IT. Come home, watch tv, wait to go to bed to get up and do it all over again. Now it seems men go to work, come home, do whatever they're told until they can get to bed, then we get up and continue the mad scramble again. Men are too henpecked. God forbid you sit down and be "lazy". I can understand helping out, but sometimes it seems like I'm caught in yet another round of "Let Me Do Less So Someone Else Will Do It Cuz Otherwise I'll Just End Up Doing Everything Myself", like at work. I work there 12 hours a day more often than not, then why do I still have to do dishes and laundry AT ALL? I do NOT mind spending time with my daughter, I LOVE IT. BUT I do need time to myself, and I would like some basic tenets of cleanliness upheld. Days off from one job should not mean days working for someone else...
