Such betrayal of the mind cannot go unnoticed indefinitely, and all those days and months of pretense and resolute denial had finally taken him to a place where he had known all along it must end.

Such an odd choice for an end-game. Lessons learned too late are merely taunts, it seems.
In a sense he had to marvel at the check-mate his own mind had pulled off. Every move he had made in the last five years...no matter how well-intentioned or innocuous...was now exposed as a fatal flaw that had contributed to his present situation.
He could almost hear the fractals chuckle with glib satisfaction at his impending demise. They enjoyed his panic. It was the last outward sign that he still cared, and it would be a pleasure for them to watch it be extinguished once and for all.
He's in a hell of his own making, and he's frightened. Soon it will all come crashing down. There will be no more reprieves. Not any more.

So I found my copy of Lost Highway, and it just so happens that I moved within the last week... think it will scare me to watch it???? havn't seen it in a year or more... I think i'm gonna test it out.
either that or just watch Blue Velvet... I'm having Lynch withdrawl...
