Sheesh I cant wait for tuesday to roll around so I can lay in bed all day and do nothing. Yay for days off. So tonight I had a meeting at work for us managers. We started the meeting fixing the store up to par and getting bitched at for not following up with our staff so things are done correctly. After that we did a very interesting excersize for us to learn to better communicate what we want to our staff. The thing was that we had to tell an alien how to tie their shoes. Them being an alien and knowing nothing about shoes and what they are for. One person acted as the alien then we had to first tell them what a shoe was and why we needed it. Now the hard part (you wouldnt think telling someone how to tie their shoe would be hard right..WRONG!) You need to get their foot in the shoe being very very specific as to how to do this. Oh yeah forgot to mention you are not allowed to touch them or their shoe. It is a very frustrating thing but its makes you relize that sometimes you arent being clear, because the person acting as the alien is doing everything you tell them to do literally. Needless to say it took me about 45 mins to get him to tie his shoe. Not tied very well but tied (as soon as he stood up it fell out). We then went into talking about what kind of learners we are. Me being a visual learner (duh!). Well we talked to our manager and things and got some points across. I hope she listened. I know she heard us but did she listen. She is a great manager and knows her shit but she makes me feel like im a dumbass and cant do anything on my own and that I need her contstantly redoing everything I do to make sure its done right. She is just going to get more crazy as we get closer to Christmas and I do not want to just up and walk out of this job. I love my job and the awesome new people that I have meet but so help me god if she talks to me and flips out on me the way she did the other day im out. Whoa this was a very long winded entry.
