I made another stained-glass window yesterday and it made me happy
At the studio where i'm kinda working/volunteering/learning, we do all the lead-work outside on the sidewalk because of the fumes (trees and birdies need toxic fumes more than lamps and little glass-shop-interns, right? ) and every time i'm sittin out there sautering, everybody who walks by stops to watch, and usually they make a comment like "wow! did you make that?" and sometimes i keep it simple, like "yeah" or "no, i'm just sautering it" depending on how truthful i'm feeling... other times i elaborate or respond in some other unpredictable way, because i've realized that to them, i'm like a public performance of some kind, for sitting and dripping lead onto a big window out in the street... even though that seems kinda uncanny...
another thing i realize is that i don't know how to spell sauter.. sauder? souder? lol melting lead down with the long iron thingie...
tonight i'll be doin that more-- being that it's "second saturday" and that means tons of tourists or whoever the hell it is who emerges from the nooks and crannies of pomona to fill all the stores lol so i'll be sitting in the window like a performance monkey doing something glass-related, most likely something i'll have never done before, like i'm some master craftsman or some jazz it'll be hilarious. then i'll get drunk...
hope ya'll have a good saturday night... see you soon

I looked in the dictionary and it's spelled "solder." The dictionary is such a handy book!
The Sandy paintings are mine, along with Kitty and Linda.
Hope to see you at an SGLA Wednesday or some such soon!
