everybody at work complimented me on my beard today. that is when i realized i had a beard. got home, and shaved immediately. i used to never look in mirrors at all: wake up, put on a hat, brush my teeth, and i'm set for the day.
and then i met kate, and i liked kissing her, so i began to shave on a regular basis (as opposed to just whenever it felt weird to touch my face).
i think that's about the only thing that's changed since she left -- i don't waste my days looking around in the mirror, seeing if i've got to shave, if my hair's sticking up (hooray for jobs that allow hats, too).
i really don't think it's a fair trade. i'd prefer to have my gal around.
[digression]
so, i shaved, but left a goatee, because i've never had a goatee before (i've never had a beard before either, but i've also never wanted to look like my father). and once i'd done that, i got my hair sticking up, and put on my blood-tipped devil horns, and used some of the grease paint my sister left in my room on halloween and made myself wicked.
that's how i have fun at night.
it didn't last long.
then my sis called so i could read to her, The Vile Village, chapter four.
I was reading A Series of Unfortunate Events before it was cool.
I was reading A Series of Unfortunate Events in the looney bin.
The whole giving up adult swim thing has yet to work. I figured to get my fix, I would just rent discs of Futurama from Blockbuster... all that happened then was, I stayed up all night watching Futurama episodes back to back, pausing only to watch the one that was on TV.
But I have my alarm set for 8AM right now.
My plans for tomorrow:
get a storage unit
get a haircut
get a lottery ticket (who can resist the seductive call of $170,000,000.00?)
maybe rent Dodgeball (because I thought it was really funny)
eat [what passes for] mexican food [in nashville] for lunch
get home, shave the goatee, shower
watch The Pink Panther
go to lunch
I don't understand how it can be in the 70s in December. Stupid Nashville weather.
I can't wait to go to VT (and Boston?)

sleep:
i haven't seen "dreams". i suppose now i will have to. i saw and loved rashomon. i think i saw about half of "seven samurai" before we discovered that the dvd was not just scratched, but cracked. damn you netflix. anyway, i love good movies, and you know how i feel about dreams, so this sounds like a pretty sure bet.
