I love my job. I just hate waking up at 5:30 AM for it.
Otherwise, I would write an awful lot about what is on my mind tonight, after having seen Superman Returns.
I gave up caffeine a week ago, and ever since then, I have been monumentally tired. I have been trying to stay up late enough to call The New Girl -- she leaves work closer to 1: AM -- but have instead just been passing out around 10: PM. It's been a serious shame. I have always been the type who puts off calling (due to a nervous and insecure condition) until it is too late, until the girl has moved on.
So today I had a few sodas, to see how caffeine-related any of this is... and now I would have no problem staying awake long enough (really, just another half-hour!). And of course this happens on the night before I'm back to work -- so I shouldn't tempt myself. I have to be awake in five hours and, when one works ten-hour shifts, one musn't mess around with sleep.
But yeah, so, after Superman, I realize how very much superhero stories have really lent themselves to who I have become. It is bizarre. As a youngster, I wanted to be both Superman AND Batman.
I shan't go into it now (let us recall the issue of sleep), but I intend to remember and write about it.
