Things are actually looking up in a lot of ways for me. I'm way too upbeat to stay depressed for too long.
The bank that rejected me for the really good job like a month ago called me this week and said that a position has opened up that they are considering me for, and would I mind coming in for a second interview? I don't know much about the position yet, but I'm going in to meet with them Thursday.
Plus, when I told my boss about it, she said that she had a meeting with the president of the company about me, and they'd like to put me on the permanent staff. She told me, "Don't tell the boss I said this, but don't take the offer yet. Go do your interview and then see which is a better opportunity for you. I hope that you stay here, but I want the best for you." I love cool bosses.
FINALLY, I have been somewhat courting this cool chick from my book club. She's really smart. Like rocket-scientist smart. Literally. She actually studied aerospace engineering in college.
I invited her to a roller derby fundraiser, and we had a fun time, but I didn't really hear much from her after that, so I assumed I blew it. Then she texted me out of the blue last night and wanted to know if I was at the roller derby bout that was going on downtown. I was busy rocking my socks off at the Poison/Ratt concert (aka the "Hair Ball"), so I couldn't go. Then she told me that it was a shame, because there was also a Transformers expo going on in the convention center.
She like Transformers.

So I called her this afternoon and left her a voicemail seeing if she wants to go see the Transformers movie this weekend. (I know it's going to suck, but... come on. I HAVE to see it.)
So, yeah. Things are lookin' up. I have a potential job and a potential date. Keep those fingers crossed for me, SG.
Do you go to the roller derby? Last Sunday's bout was awesome - we lost, but it was a great event. Which fund raiser did you attend? I've only heard of the karaoke at Jerky's. I was there last week, but left early.
Have a great 4th!
