I hate-hate-hate my bank. Grrrr.
So my computer crapped out this week, but I came into a little bit of money for doing promotional work for the local rock station. I planned to use that cash to get a new laptop on Friday afternoon.
I deposited the check, but it would take like a week to clear. I talked to the manager of the bank and explained how I needed the funds available to go computer shopping that evening, and she agreed to credit me the amount of the check (since it was clearly a payroll check from a major radio station, so she knew it would be good).
I arranged a ride to the store, which was a pain the in ass since I don't have a car and it's a half hour away, and picked out the perfect computer in my price range (it was on sale). I went to go pay for it, and my card was declined! I called the 800-number for my bank and talked to a "specialist" about my account for like 20 minutes, and he said that the manager did make the credit to my account, but it wouldn't take effect until midnight that night.
*sigh*
So I arranged to get a ride the next day, which was, again, no easy task. At this point I'm suffering from computer withdrawl. I get out of work, get home, and rush over to the store again. Get the computer, get to the checkout... declined again.
WTF?!
So I call. Again. The money isn't in my account, and I can't even talk to anyone about what went wrong, because their calling center closes at 5pm on Saturdays.
SO NOW I have to wait until Monday to sort things out with the bank and get my computer. AND the sale with be over by then, so I may not even be able to get the model I wanted. I went online to check out my bank account when I got home, and the money was credited to my account, all right. But it was credited to my credit card, not to my checking. I don't know why, my credit card was never mentioned to the bank manager, nor to the specialist over the phone. I can't even use my credit card to buy the laptop, because I owed money on the account, so it went from negative to slightly positive, but not nearly positive enough to cover the cost.
So tomorrow my bank is getting an irrate phone call from me. AGAIN.
I HATE MY STUPID BANK!!!
