I came out to my mom tonight.

It went better than I expected. We both cried, and she was sad that I went through so much guilt and stress over telling her. I was worried, because I've always known her to be very homophobic, but her response was:

"There are so many miserable people and terrible things in this world. If you've found something that makes you happy, then I think you should do it."
