Hello Guys and Dolls,
Just wanted to share with you all, a fond little tale of Valentine's Day love, that goes way back ….. even before I was a twinkle in my dads eye (about 33 years ago). Now this isn't my own personal V~day tale, but it does belong to two of the most special and important people in my life; and if it wasn't for this very special V~day tale, yours truly wouldn't be here today!
I know you guys are going to say "YAH RIGHT!", but this next part is the TRUTH, cross my heart or just ask my parents!
My parents met at the age of 16 (Dad) and 17 (mom) by a PRANK PHONE CALL. Yup thats right, my mothers little sister at the time thought it would be fun to prank call with her friends, to find some cute boys for V~day. They dialed my dad's house number randomly (dad was also with friends at the time) thought they sounded cute and vice versa, so they arranged a meeting on Valentines Day at Citrus park in Azusa, CA. My mom at the time enjoyed being fit and would run laps around the park nearly every day (in her 70's dolphin shorts lol) and was actually doing so when the prank callers (aunt and friends) met with my dad and friends.
After chatting with my aunt my dad gazed over to see my mother running laps around the park in her (as he puts it) sexy little shorts and he turned to his best friend at the time and said, "Do you see that girl in the shorts? I am going to marry her". When she was about to pass him on another lap, he jumped in front of her and laid some cheesy lines and the rest is history.
They have been together over 33 years and married 30 years. They still make out in the kitchen, they still gaze into each others eyes, and they still tell each other just how much they love each other!
I am thankful to have such amazing role~models that have shown me there is such thing as "true love" and that even when things are rough love is worth fighting for. I am so lucky to have such amazing parents, that still after 33 years only have eyes for each other!
(Ron & Debbie married 30 years)
wishing you all the best Valentines Day,
Fox
