Being a vegetarian is great and everything, but today I would like to discuss a few of its shortfalls, primarily, horrible HORRIBLE abdominal pain. Being a vegetarian for a significant amount of time pretty much distroys your ability to digest any kind of animal protein without hours of agony. Now, in and of itself, this isn't really a problem, becuase, hey...why would you want to? Unfortunately, it also makes it really hard to digest things that are high in fat. Like avocados. Or maybe that's just me, because a lot of my veggie friends are fine with avocados. But anyway, I was at a family BBQ today, and there was a layered dip involving guacamole, which I cleverly thought I could avoid while eating the other layers. Then everything got mushed together and I endured two hours of wrenching gut pain. And, since that was the first thing I ate, I didn't get to anything else. Which is fine, since it was mostly meat. Furthermore, my clothing has been infused with the smell of smokey meat, and it's gross, nasty, disgusting, and so on. Ew ew EW!
In other news, I am oh so excited because I discovered that as a student I can get a free ticket to the Toronto Pride circuit party by going and standing in line tomorrow. I mean....today. That will save me $65 I don't really have.
We finally had a beautiful day here in Toronto. It's been chilly and rainy ever since I got back from Vancouver, where I go to school. Normally, I don't mind Toronto rain, because it's so much more exciting and refreshing than the constant insipid drool that happens everyday in Vancouver, but I want at least a little summer, and little tan. Everything was so green and lush. Unfortunately, it also reminded me why Toronto heat is great for about five minutes, and then you want go lie in front of an air conditioner vent for the next three months.
Also, my brother recieved an electric guitar for his graduation from high school. This bothers me for two reasons. 1) I did not get a high school graduation present. I feel robbed. But then, since I can't even think of anything I want for graduating university, it doesn't really matter. More importantly 2) When I'm staying with my parents in TO, his room is right next to mine. And he can stay up even later than I do. Yikes.
