So I invited Mary to the birthday bash, and today I got an e-mail saying "The party sounds really fun. I will have to rush to find a date...or is this the sort of party one is supposed to go stag to?"
Wheee! Calloo, Callay!
I can't recall the last time I've been so elated to learn someone is unattached.
Naturally, I hastily composed a reply that tactfully expressed decorous approval for either option, but ended with a flirtatious riposte that suggested that the latter might perhaps be preferable to the host.
So we'll see what comes of that.
I'm positively giddy.
For tonight's entertainment, L and I are going with her friend Saralina to a drag show in San Marcos.
More birthday-weekend drunkenness and bizarre merriment is sure to ensue.
Ten years ago, I would never have imagined myself having this much fun at 29.
Hurrah for staying young at heart!
