This should be good . The Phillies just won the series . I start a new job Monday , in downtown Philly . I hope they don't have the parade that day . Surely they'll have it before then , right ?
So , I was really happy to see them win , even if I wasn't happy with the whole splitting the game up thing . As bad as that weather was , they just should have stopped the game earlier & started anew tonight with game 5 in the first inning all over again .But , what do I know . I'm old , cranky & those young ballplayers need to get off my lawn .
So , the new job . I'm going to be working for the American Red Cross . It'll be for less $ than I was making at the last job , and I'll be driving 65 miles in each direction every day That part is the bad part . The good part is , good health coverage , good vacation time , and hopefully a job that doesn't physically hurt me as much as the last one did . I'll be working 2nd shift , so hopefully that'll help with my traffic woes .
I'm not going to know how to act when I get that first check . I've been on unemployment since May . $600 every two weeks isn't much , especially when you're used to making more then that every single week . Anyway , I'm sure I'll be posting something next week about first impressions of the place . I'll be doing employee orientation all next week . And I've already been told that their training usually takes the better part of a year . So it should be interesting . At least I do already have lab tech experience going for me , being used to following SOPs & such . So I'm actually mildly hyped about finding a job in the field that I wanted to stay in all along .
