I finally got to say hello to next door's half-grown kitten (the one from the squirrel episode). It was sniffing around the plants outside the back door so I tapped on the glass & slowly opened the door. It was a bit wary of me but (as usual with cats) it couldn't resist coming in to investigate, although my intention had been to go out to it. After 5 mins or so of checking out the furnishings it let me stroke it & began purring.

Then I had to go out to work & it didn't want to leave. Doesn't like being picked up. Wriggles.
I put kitten outside; it then took me ages to close the door - first its head came back through the gap then, when the gap was too small for its head, its paws.
My work is done

The girls will adore this new visitor when he/she next shows.
