I finally dipped my toe into eBay last night. I was after a Nikon film scanner. I thought I was doing the right thing by holding my bid till the last few minutes. Obviously I still have some way to go. My bid (160) was home until about 30 seconds remained, when it was topped. I tried to raise mine to 170 but ran out of time.
I now find that the guy who won is bidding for seemingly almost every Nikon Coolscan put up for auction.
I know I can't expect a dealer to think other than in business terms & he's not breaking the law but I WANTED IT FOR MYSELF, NOT THE PROFIT MARGIN YOU CUNT!
I'm going to have to do battle with him again for 3 of the next 4 on offer as well.
Edit ...... I just happened to see that Satriani'sSurfing with the Alien was just closing & idly bid for it.
Ok I did want it but not as much as a film scanner. However, a film scanner can't do amazing tapped licks
Double edit .... I've just eaten a whole packet of biscuits.

I'm probably gonna switch to pedal for live and use the pod at home.
I couldn't recomend the podxt highly enough, they are brilliant, and you can get free downloads for it from line6.com so it has even more stuff.
I found the sound from the pod would vary a lot depending on what PA it was DI'd through live, but at home or in rehearsal it was 110% fantastic!
