Gin Panic at the Dublin Castle last night. Met some of the SGUK folk; only a few (for a late show on a Monday night that is understandable) but nice friendly people . And the band - awesome: tight, loud & powerful. Well worth thye journey to the foreign parts of Norf' London. A great evening & I really enjoyed it. Home, 3hours sleep then up at my usual unearthly hour of 4.30am.
I was in a silly mood when I got there: lack of sleep, & still on the 'high' of the previous night - not that the SG guys would have noticed - I didn't say a lot (that made any sense, at any rate) The assistant manager where I work is friendly & informal but she hasnt yet got used to my warped sense of humour. I was checking that the cleaner in the main office hadn't missed anything as the canteen assistant was going over one or two items with the manager. She started to say the kettle is in .... & I butted in in the fridge. The canteen lady stopped talking as I chipped in with that and the manager gave me a very startled look & then looked at her with a kind of I need some help here! expression.
I ache. I was alright this morning - don't know what i did & to what, but it's getting its own back now.
A picture from my last-but-one visit to the Dublin Castle - early 1990's I think.
The shot is wider than this but the page format chopped it.
