So far this has mostly been a good week. The bad part is that despite his getting a broadband router the newest housemate & I have not yet been able to enjoy simultaneous broadband access. He can, whenever he likes. I have to either wait until he is out or find out if he wants to use it before connecting direct to the phone socket, as in the good old days. To add insult to injury the bill is in my name, and he is using my access dets to get online. It seems to be some technical rubbish, probably trivial, that is preventing it, possibly compounded by his having a PC while mine is a Mac. At least he has conscience enough to feel bad about it. I hope we get this sorted out soon.
Another boost to my desire to find a place of my own asap.
The good part, however, at least until he set off again this morning, is that my friend Tony, who moved out to New Zealand 2 years ago, & whom I hadn't seen until last Monday, was staying at mine until this morning. Much catching-up, silliness & some eating/drinking out (with more silliness). Last night we met another ex-housemate for a wonderful Thai meal on the latter's business expenses, and a film afterwards. It was great to see him again too - we meet so infrequently even though he only lives 18 miles away. The 3 of us used to regularly go out when we all lived where I still am.
My mate has now set off on the final leg of his attempt to see everyone he knows in the UK before returning to NZ, but it was so wonderful to see him again, brief as it was. Have a safe journey back, mate - even though I doubt you will be reading this.
I have just been sorting through a box of old photo's and found my pics of cats i used to know.
There will be kittens. Sorry.
