I had the life scared out of me by next-door's young cat yesterday.
I was minding my own business in my bedroom and glimpsed from the corner of my eye a small creature dart across the room and go under the bed.
After climbing down from the wardrobe and seeing the cat's face peering back when I peered into the chaos under there I was reassured that it wasn't a rat. One of my housemates had let it in & it had gone off exploring.
T. S Eliot - Prelude 1:
Anyone recognise the 4th line from anywhere else?
The winter evening settles down
With smell of steaks in passageways.
Six o'clock.
The burnt-out ends of smoky days.
And now a gusty shower wraps
The grimy scraps
Of withered leaves about your feet
And newspapers from vacant lots;
The showers beat
On broken blinds and chimney-pots,
And at the corner of the street
A lonely cab-horse steams and stamps.
And then the lighting of the lamps.

And no, I don't recognise that line, where else is it from?
I think that the broadband bit will have to be done though.
