Yesterday was weird but very great.

I was going up on the orange line to Henri-Bourassa when the metro stopp[ed because of smoke. That in itself was not weird, unexpected at least, but not weird. I had been in stopped metro before for much worse (a suicide for example - in a faraway station, but this is another story). Since I was up and trying to read, I got out and sat on the station benches whilst almost everybody stays stuck together inside the metro, fearful of loosing their little spot, conforted in doing nothing, afraid that the metro will leave anytime without warning.

The main reason I went to sit was to read, I almost always read in the metro. Then comes this CEGEP-style guy asking me if I like to read. I said I do and he presents me two essays he wrote about his observations of society, something about people acting like insects and going their merry way without notion of purpose (I still have to read his pieces). I took them and told him I will send feedback. Not weird, special.

With that in mind, the metro finally gets to Henri-Bourassa and I am walking in the corridor leading to the Laval bus station. The corridor is crowded like rush hour everybody is walking with the same goal in mind, get as fast as possible to their bus stop. I like walking in crowds like that because when you look at people, you notice things, such as they really behave like insects on a migration, people seem to have a tunnel vision and see only the exit. Then I noticed this thing, there is a guy on the floor and there are maybe only one or two people that and are trying to help him. That was weird - the essay guy seemed right.

The conclusion, I made a 911 call and directed the paramedics. It seems I was the only one to do so because when the paramedics reached the guy, it seemed unexpected to them. That makes great day.
