I woke up at 8:00am this morning to my cat Gabriel's little feet kicking me in the back because he was having a seizure. He usually never has them unless he gets over excited about something like running in circles really fast chasing a toy. He must have had a very bad dream.
I picked him up and carried him around like a baby telling him how pretty he is while he jerked, spit and foamed at the mouth. After a while the seizure stopped and he started to calm down. It breaks my heart when this happens to him because it scares him so much. It is just so sad to see the fear in his eyes when he comes to because he does not know what is going on. My timing was not that bad today, I was able to get him over the litter box once he came around before he made to big of a mess. He cannot stand up for some time after a seizure so I have to sit there and hold him over it till he is done.
After a little while once he could stand up I gave him a warm bath and then towel dried and brushed him. He LOVES the towel dry and brush part.
I then needed a shower myself and was already running late for work. I threw some clothes in the drier (chilly and rainy this morning) so they would be warm and then took a quick hot shower.
Kissing the kitty goodbye I made sure the roommates door was cracked so kitty could go in and sleep with him.
I then headed out the door for work where I sit now fighting the urge for a nap.
The day is dark and misty with rain swept streets that lull the eye and deafen the senses. My thoughts of dreamy unreality only heightened by the sound of thunder that sends faint vibrations through the world.
Well that is my day so far. I hope yours strted better.

I think I love you. A man who hugs and babytalks his cat through a seizure. *sigh* why the fuck do you have to live in Texas?
