Atmosphere:
It was a good day to begin with. Work went well and I got out of there a few moments early just to get home and shower. I packed up my stuff and began my trek north to the capital of tey-has. Just as I was passing through buda I realized that I went and left my ticket at home. The dilemma was starting to set in when I became aware that if I turned around and got the ticket I would be hitting rush hour traffic in Austin. With panic placing the shakes in my hands and heart I decided to just continue my trip and get to Jen and Beccas and order myself a new one. Luckily the show didnt sell out and I didnt have an accident as I made my way north. I got a hold of another friend and invited her to come along and now the party was up to four with the chance of another one joining us. I chilled at jen and beccas watching the l-word and relaxing until the night. We ordered some food from kerbey lane to fill the hungry belly and waited some more. Around eight I help becca get her car from north Austin and we returned to pick everyone up. We all took separate cars because the girls were going have to leave early and I didnt want to put my friend out to drive me back to mine after the show. As I was getting near emos, becca calls to tell me that she and jen have decided not to go and that they would meet me at the door in order to sell their tickets. Just as we met up, becca had just sold both tickets and told me to get her a sweatshirt and that she will see me tomorrow. My friends and I enter and head over to the bar for some libations and Ant was standing right there. I told him how much I like the new album and to congratulate him on his first tour and then got my drinks and found a nice area to consume it. We caught bits and pieces of the opening act and some of P.O.S. and I walked through most of Blueprints set. Mostly bidding our time for Atmosphere, we headed in doors to catch the rest of the astros game. I dont care for sports but I just wanted to see the white sox win. The band that was playing inside was pretty good; they were called Jens Lekman (I guess that was the lead singers name). Soon we were pushing our way through the crowd to see Slug and company perform and perform they did. I have only seen Slug with a band on DVD because I missed their performance earlier this year due to class and guest. There was a guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist and Ant on tables; Crescent Moon was the back up. They played a lot of songs off the new album and hit up a bunch of classics. If I remember correctly, the last three songs were always coming home to you, gods bathroom floor and shrapnel. It was one of the best shows I have been to in a while and I havent seen atmosphere pack in a crowd like that in Austin ever. After the show I headed back to jen and beccas and crashed out on their couch and was thankful I didnt have to work the next day.
