This past week has, as is never a surprise anymore, been busy. I am getting a fair amount of reading done for the dissertation and one of the conference papers I'm working on (the one for SCMLA). But, as I noted earlier, I have another paper to put together, this one for what is probably the most important annual conference in my field.
I think I have an idea, though, and one for which I've already done most--if not all--of the legwork. It is a bit afield of my usual research--I tend to work in Arthuriana and fantasy literature--but I think I may be able to do something useful with it.
Also, I have received another call for papers, and for that one, too, I have a paper that can probably go off as is. So it looks like I may be able to have a highly productive year in 2010. After slacking off for most of this one (at least as far as presentations go; I'd not necessarily call comprehensive exams and preliminary work on the dissertation "slacking off," in and of themselves), it will be nice to get to go out for a bit.
The question, of course, will be finding out if I can afford to do so...
That, though, is always a concern.
