Sonya's family is in New York City, and so the usualy running around has been amplified considerably. For myself, it is not such a good thing; I am not given to traipsing about town, really, as those who know me know. I would much rather stay more or less in, enjoying quiet idleness, than try to "see the sights."
Maybe I am simply too much the curmudgeon.
Still, things are going generally well. I am adjusting to the city fairly decently, and can find my way around town pretty well at this point. Admittedly, I don't often go past Columbus Circle or into Queens or the Bronx, but I can get around midtown and lower Manhattan and most of Brooklyn well enough--and since that's where work and home are, those are really all I need.
We are planning to go back to the Hill Country this summer, both over the Fourth of July weekend and sometime in August. We do have some business to take care of, but mostly we just want to see people.
That, and get good Mexican food. And barbecue.
Now, if I can only get to work...
