I find that I am annoyed by certain among my students, but not for the reason that most teachers find their students annoying. No, I'm annoyed because my students keep trying to appeal to me through the front of my pants; several of my students in past semesters have thought that they could influence my grading by employing their assets...or their asses. While on one level I would greatly enjoy bending several of my past students over and plowing the fields in their fleshy valleys (certainly some of them have been sufficiently good-looking that, well, yeah...), on another, I am insulted that they think I have such a poor sense of professional ethics that I would let that happen. Aside from the fact that I love my girlfriend, and would not actually do that to her.
It would be funny, I think, to take one of the students who say "I'll do ANYTHING to improve my grade, Mr. Elliott," exploit that particular foolishness, and then say "That wasn't good enough to help your grade, sorry." Funny and, like as not, a good time.
It'll never happen, of course; I've not really got the balls or the moral looseness to accept the tacit or explicit offers. And that's probably a good thing.
