Firstly, JoieLynn and Luz, I hope you had a good semester's end.
Secondly, I have been thinking about what I have been posting in the many, many sets of writings I do. I seem to be putting up different facets of myself, showing some to one set, some to another, but all to none.
I begin to wonder how well anyone can know me. From that, I wonder how well anyone can know anyone else. We can do what we want to the flesh in which we are clad, trying to make it show the essence of that essence which it bears. We can do work with our hands and minds and hope to show the truth of ourselves that way.
None of it works.
Luz will tell you that there is no true truth, which is ironically a truth.
I disagree.
A true truth is out there. But to that question "[the] answer is that sweet refrain / unheard it always will remain / beyond our reach, beyond our gain" (Kansas, Masque, "The Pinnacle").
Our eyes are clouded, our ears muffled, our skin insulated, our noses stuffed, our tongues coated, our very souls shrouded in our own illusions, illusions we make because we cannot withstand the truth.
