where the hell has my head gone the last few days/weeks/months..
i've been getting slowly more and more high strung over money.. it's only money after all.. it's a stupid movie-ish cliche (which i actually saw the scene on tv friday night i think it was while channel surfing).. you can always make more money.. time/opportunities are a one shot deal..
i've been really wanting to visit my very good friend in chicago for quite some time.. it's been more than a year since we last got to see each other.. which might not sound odd to people being as we live about 700 miles apart or so.. but.. michelle is one of those people in life that you just hear an audible click the first time you meet.. within the first time we met.. we made it to visit one another at least 7 times in 6 months.. then as we both started running out of the money it was costing us for that much driving and such.. became less frequent (and we both had full time jobs then which also got in the way)
when i decided i was going to college this fall i decided it was a perfect time to go visit again.. the last time we got to see each other was for a couple days last june when she came through london on the way to toronto to visit with our circle of mutual friends.. i've been looking forward to visiting for quite awhile.. then i started hemming and hawing about it thinking of how much money it would cost me, both money spent and money not made at work by quitting a week early.. but.. tonight she called me and we tried to talk for a bit.. and i realized how stupid i was being thinking about not going since i probably wouldn't have another chance until school was finished.. or at least until the school year was over.. walking home tonight it sort of dawned me what an idiot i was being getting that worked up over money..
it's not a very good movie.. but this says it quite well..
Piece of advice: you can lose your money. You can spend it - all of it. Maybe work hard, get it all back. But if you waste your time, you're never gonna get it back.
