so, the weekend from hell, kinda, of sorts. My girlfriend and i decided to take a trip to Splitsville. We've been together a very, very long time. We went through university together, moved towns together, got drunk and fucked friends together. Now we're breaking up together.
In the best possible way; amicably, friendly, sad and crying and laughing and packing boxes together. Slowly collapsing a decade and wrapping it in newspaper, tucking the years into brown boxes.
my friend M, said i was an idiot. you'll regret it, he said and i shrugged maybe. there was some quiet, traffic - we sat on the kerb drinking beer in the hot sticky evening - then he said is this what you want? i shrugged, a nod, yeah.
he nodded back and offered if i ever needed to talk.
anyone who knows M would look shocked at this and laugh nervously. M is, i think you would say, stoic. M knows a thing or two about drinking, not so much about talking.

this is monday morning now, and at 6.31am, too early for me to think cogently, we get a 5.4 earthquake; a shaker, a piddler, nuttin' to get me outta bed.
one grows accustomed to the occasional quake - i barely look to the doorframes or heavy tables any more, my fingers clench around my full glass and that's about it - i suppose this is how you are when you live next to the train tracks, though there you at least have the benefit of a timetable.

zui is a beautious thang ( but sophie is still my goddamned fav-ur-it! I suspect that she may be Batgirl)

i am sad, very very sad, to hear about the breakup. it's so hard, and it hurts so much, but sometimes it's the best path there is.
i wish you all the luck in the world with it. you're a brave strong boy and you deserve good things.
