my life is a work in progress
when carving stone, the sculpter removes everything that is not the statue.
She does not add anything to create it, except the willingness to do the work.
The art of revealing beauty lies in removing what conceals it.
My work is to chisel away at everything that is not essence.
Perfection is an illusion and I must remember...
that I can never change the situation, but I can change my attitude toward it.
time to eat.

Not the 'time to eat' part (though I like that too), but for quite a few years now, I've tried to only worry about the things that might be changed by my worrying, and not to worry about the things that won't change regardless of my worries.
It doesn't always work that way. I'm pretty neurotic at the best of times, but I try to stay mellow about most things.
