ok...so this is my fourth journal just for -today- O.o interesting. maybe i should do something else after work...leave the apartment maybe? something...hrm.
but i digress, on to the subject this evening: money.
money is a very funny thing, i've come to understand over the last few months. it's very interesting the things money can cause or can disallow from happening...if you let it. and that is the key.
you have to -let- your money get you in trouble, or non-money in the case of credit cards. see...you control the credit cards, you got the HDTV cable, you bought the expensive car, you needed cable instead of dial-up. having no money is not necessarily the fault of other, and in -most- cases, is -not- the fault of an other. its your own.
now, given, credit card fraud does exist, and you can let someone borrow your credit card (though why on earth you'd do that with someone you didn't trust is beyond me)...and other circumstances. Even given these things, i believe that money issues can be broken down to choices. if you're in a bind, you've -chosen- to put yourself there.
you overextended that budget you should have been keeping. you blew that rent money on a great time at the club. you lost the car payment at the blackjack table. i understand that these are extreme and cliched examples, but they are true, and i see them everyday.
now what can be done about this epidemic of everyone whining about their debt, and not accepting responsibility for it? nothing except this...point out that it was their choice to spend the money that they (didn't have) had in some way other than the way they know it -should- have been spent. that's it. its time for us all to be adults and take responsibility for our actions.
