gone before i ever had it. i finally started making some calls to find this fucking car. a little backstory: my dad bought a '50 mercury 10+ years ago without my knowing anything about it. my dad died 5 years ago. last year i was aking my mom about another car my dad owned, a 40-something buick, and she mentioned the mercury. wierd because i asked about the buick after seeing someone else's merc and... duh-ta-duh-ta-duh. so my mom didn't know where the car was and my dad's best friend was really sketchy when i called to ask him, so i had my mom call the best friend and he came up with a name. i'd found the guy's phone number and called a few times always getting his machine. i hate leaving messages so i never did until yesterday. he called this morning to say it's gone. a few years ago his neighbor was buring off some brush (this is out in the sticks) the fire got out of control and burned up the car. burned up a couple of '57 chevys the guy had for himself, too. this really fucking sucks. i was considering persuing automotive as a career just so i could fix this car. and a '50 merc is like a billion punk rock points. i was kind of expecting the car to not be there, but for it to have been destroyed is almost worse.

depends on who I'm hanging out with and who's playing in town... but when I want to work alone, I usually go to Henry's.
