I had a really lovely weekend, though I'm feeling mighty tired and rather pissed off right now! So bullet points for quickness!
Friday, in eerie pub for the boy's birthday. I baked him brownies and got a little bit drunk, he got rather lashed! He got his presents when we got in, due to impatience!
Saturday, drove to Birmingham for th boy's band's gig, saw AlwaysBeingBlue, had a good time, despite about 4 hours of driving, and no drinking.
Sunday, the actual birthday day. He got a card from me, the only thing he hadn't already opened. Gorgeous lunch at the local Indian restaurant. Out in the local town in the evening.
Yesterday I had the day off. We didn't do much. Tried to start my car, it was deaded. Jumpstart in the rain by Jamie' dad, down to Halfords for a new battery. 45 later, we're good to go. The evening consisted of Spaced, followed by tasty food, followed by frantic running about trying to catch water in buckets, pouring out of light fittings. See McK's journal!
So he's back with me. I arrived last night to find out they'd tried to deliver the item I had ordered from America for his B'day, with a customs charge of 17.11 added on. I naturally queried this as the item itself is only about 20. Apparently the $28 I paid UPS to deliver it wasn't enough to cover the freight charge, so the 6.11 had a nice 11 extra charge added on. Great. Jamie, if you don't like the present you better damn well pretend you do! Grumble grumble.
But I'm so happy I get to spend time with my
. Bristol ComicCon next weekend. Should be grand.
