Le weekend.
Was grandiosely awesome, thanks for asking!
I cant think of a better way to spend a weekend than with the best boy a girl could ever hope to have. I felt rather shitty on Friday night, so I wanted to have a quiet night in, and cooked chilli and coconut and vanilla soy rice pudding for the hungry boy to have when he arrived, later than usual thanks to the damn trains. Saturday I sadly woke up early thanks to early starts in the week but we toodled off to London to go shopping. I managed to refrain from spending anything, but in Forbidden Planet the Jamie managed to spend 30 odd quid on a load of comics and 2 books. Lord of Light for him, and Vurt, which he bought for me. Its his favourite book and he always buys me his favourite things like the Princess Bride, and now Vurt. He is such a nice boy! And it is awesome so far.
In the evening we met up with my friend Hannah, the one from a couple of entries ago. It was great, Jamie liked her, and her boy, and they liked him, and despite not drinking it was good. We walked back from London Bridge up Bankside to Waterloo. It was really cool, despite needing to put my glasses on to admire the scenery. And I had to put them on to read the menu in Starbucks. Damn damn dammit.
Sunday we had considered visiting my parentals, but decided against it for various reasons so we went for a walk around Virginia Water Lake. Though its man made, its pretty spectacular and the weather was lovely. They filmed some of Harry Potter 3 there last year, too. Then I cooked dinner, mac and cheese and more rice pudding
Bank holiday Monday woo! Day off eeeeeeeee!
Ummm, what did we do? Oh yes! Amityville Horror! It was really good! We wanted tosee Hitchikers Guide, but with so many conflicting reviews we decided to give it a miss. It was the best weekend ever. Lots of walking, home cooked whole foods, reading good books and watching good films with my baby.
Then yesterday the boss called me into the meeting room. I was a bit worried, Ive been slacking off lately. But no. She told me the bosses had finished debating over salary allowances, and as a consequence my salary (just mine, noone elses) was being raised by 2,000 and backdated to October. All my worries are now solved. My mum always bangs on about how, when we need it, the universe will provide for you. I can now pay my water, gas, electric and services bill, car insurace, and probably have enough left to book my ticket to San Diego. And the boy will get the birthday presents I got him with no worries on my end.
And I had yoga today which was brilliant. Though Ive eaten several biscuits and some nuts, which may have counteracted it. Oh well! You cant win em all!
