First off, let me say thanx to you folks that wished me a happy B-day.
As for me, I'm OK, but all this rain we've been having has now flooded my house to a depth of 8" all the way around it. The water has gone down from 12" yesterday morning and didn't come in the house but, my septic is now full of the flood water and I can't use the restroom, sinks, or shower. I can't get the tank drained/pumped out until the ground is dried up enough around it so the weight of the flooded soil doesn't cave it in...
The whole neighborhood is like this. We've contacted the county drainage folks and they claim that all the ditches are "full, clear, and flowing". I asked them why they didn't notice that they infact are clogged with debree and plantlife, as it is clearly seen to even us non-sewer specialists that went and looked, and was told "there's nothing we can do about it". Fucking bullshit. Get your lazy fat asses out of your truck, do your job, and open the ditches so we can at least stop having to wear rubber boots to walk out our front doors.
I will bet that if it was their bar that they spend all day drinking at instead of working it would be high and dry the morning it happened.

I find it interesting how, while everyone in the south coast has been getting Hurricaned out, Fayetteville (typically the soggiest city I've ever lived in) has been nothing but sunshine and clear days.
It's bizarre.
