Graduated from my plumbing class a day late. Perfect attendance (which is a bit of a lie. they gave everyone that graduated on April Fool's Day or was supposed to graduate then an extra 2 weeks by accident)
Had to come in on April 2nd to finish my hands on portion of the final exam. I kicked ass on the "written" (multiple choice. 194 questions that we had to complete within 3 hours. I finished in a little over an hour)
About 20 minutes after I started working on the hands on part I got a call on my cell, a guy from a plumbing company about 20 minutes away from me (on back roads) wanted to know if I had found a job yet, I said no, we set up a meeting and met the following day. He hired me on the spot. Gave me a bunch of shirts, told me the basics of what he does, new construction, renovation, service work. the full spectrum. I'm starting at like $13 an hour, but I don't care so much about the money.
Money is awesome, don't get me wrong. I used to think I needed it. Now I know I just have an unhealthy dependency on it. But for everything else...my bills are really nothing that scary. $13 an hour is more than enough to cover what I owe.
The hands on experience is what I'm after more than anything else really. For the time being I'm going to be more or less this guy's Gopher. I have no doubts about that. But if he trusts me enough to leave me to do some service work, my raise will come much faster and I'll be put into more positions of independence really.
In other news...
Luna figured out how to get onto the roof of my house. Buster weighs damn near 13 lbs of all tall lean muscle. And both of them REALLY like chasing squirrels. lol...We let them out for like...8 hours a day, until it gets dark then we bring them in. They don't have the smarts enough to stay safe from raccoons and other nocturnal predators.
