I just discovered something that is pretty cool, or more specifically, something that was almost pretty cool. Have you seen Sin City? Do you remember the car that the girl was the only one who could keep it running? That car was a 57 Chevy wagon. That was almost my car in the movie!
About a year and a half ago, I was contacted by some movie company that wanted to use my 57 Chevy wagon in a movie. The said they needed a cool looking one, but definitely not a show car. They told me It would only be driven from a guarded lot to a stage with a green screen where the actors would shoot scenes in and around it, but not actually drive it. I told them I was interested in loaning it out, but told them that there might be a problem with my car showing up on a green screen properly because it was green, and sent them pictures. I never heard back after that.
It wasn't until tonight that I discovered that Sin City was shot here in Austin. Now how many movies shot on green screen that needed a cool but not pristine 57 Chevy wagon could have been shot here about that time?
Kinda cool huh?
