I will make this short. I'm all for marriage equality. People can freely express their love for whoever they want.
However I believe some people are taking the celebration too far. When I saw someone post a picture of the flag being raised in iwa Jima then another one next to it only gay people raising a gay pride flag. I personally find that disgraceful. Those soldiers sacrificed so much and that photo is a national treasure. They lost friends, not friends brothers. I understand that gay and lesbians have had to put up with criticism and even physical violence but nothing compared to Iwa Jima. I have gay friends and lesbian friends and happy that they are free to openly love and marry. While this is a historic event, people shouldn't compare it to other events. It's a new kind of historical marker, so make something specific to its importance.
