This email came today - and made me feel sick to my stomach:
A friend gave me your e-mailso here goes
Ive written the Food Network several times, but to date no reply and my time is growing short. The purpose for my writing is that I have a 23 year old son, Chris, with terminal cancer (brain tumors) who is an avid fan of Rachael Ray. Even when he was the sickest he wanted to watch her shows or have them taped. He is too old for Make A Wish foundation, even though hes been fighting this for over 5 years.
His time is growing short and nothing else can be done for him. His one wish is to meet Rachael Ray. He has a lot of collateral damage from all the treatments and tumors (wheelchair, cane, no short term memory, etc.) but his spirits remain good. Currently he is in no pain and functioning pretty wellso my goal is to try to make his wish come true before he dies.
Im a member of the United States Army, and as such we never know whats next. Ive been lucky to stabilize here in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and hope to stay until retirement. Chris, has spent so much time in hospitals, treatments, etc., that he really didnt have much of a life as you would expect for such a young man. Hes never felt sorry for himself, but certainly his dreams and goals were put away. Were not sure how much time he has left, hes been seen at Childrens Hospital in Denver, as well as University Hospital, Denver.
Any help to get our plea to Ms Ray would be gratefully appreciated. When your child gets to a point like this you find yourself doing anything to make what little time they have left good.
Thanks so much,

lets see if we can get lucky
