So, Vegas was tons of fun, as it usually is. The vacation took a turn for the worse when it was time to leave on Tuesday though. Southwest was overbooked and bumped us and they didn't have any connecting flights that would get us home for the holidays. We checked The Weather Channel's website, which showed snow in Indy and Louisville, but the rest of the country was supposed to be clear - so we made the decision to drive home.
We ran into ice about 30 miles outside of Flagstaff, AZ and proceeded to travel through snow, ice, and sub-zero wind chills the rest of the way home. When we finally made it to St. Louis, we checked the road conditions and found out that every major route into Louisville was closed. I-64 was the shortest distance, so we decided to take a gamble and head in that direction. Luckily, the road was open when we got to Evansville; it was just really fucking shitty and slow-going. I've made it to St. Louis before in just over 3 hours but it took us about 11 hours to make it home this time and I got in at about 8:00 Friday night.
To top it all off, I had clear off 10 inches of shit from my car and driveway when I got back so I could go to work Christmas day and now I'm fucking sick.
